About this offer

Ive had a look around and found several major UK charities offering FREE Will-writing services for adults aged 18, with options including online, over the phone and, in some cases, appointments with a solicitor.
Most of these arent restricted to October either, so theyre worth knowing about even after Free Wills Month finishes.
Theres generally no obligation to leave the charity a gift in your Will, although naturally they hope people using the service might consider doing so. The offers normally cover a simple/standard Will, with additional charges possible if your circumstances require something more complex.
Here are some of the options Ive found Macmillan Cancer Support – 18

The charities are effectively paying/subsidising the cost of the Will, in the hope that some people may decide to remember the charity in their Will.
That doesnt mean youre generally required to leave them anything.
Of course, if you do want to leave something to the charity, thats entirely up to you. Worth knowing
The word free usually applies to a simple/standard Will.
If you have more complicated circumstances and need additional legal work, the provider may charge extra. Its therefore worth confirming exactly whats covered before agreeing to any additional paid services.
Different services also have different geographical restrictions and ways of writing the Will, so check the relevant charitys page to see which options are available where you live. What about Free Wills Month
Free Wills Month is also currently running during October 2026, offering people aged 55 the opportunity to have a simple Will written or updated free through participating solicitors in selected areas.
If youre writing Wills as a couple, only one of you needs to be 55. Appointments are limited and theres no obligation to leave a gift to one of the charities supporting the scheme. Official Free Wills Month
So if youre 18-54, check the charity schemes above.
If youre 55, youve potentially got even more options this month.
Hopefully this helps someone whos been putting off sorting or updating their Will.
