Choose the colour that suits the job: grey is the more discreet general-repair choice, while black is useful for darker surfaces, cables, temporary outdoor fixes and automotive-style jobs.
Both versions are described as having strong adhesion and being waterproof, water-resistant, and suitable for repairing, securing, sealing, insulating and protecting. Lidl also states that they withstand moisture for 10 days at 38C and 98% relative humidity, and temperatures up to 65C for 30 minutes. That is plenty for typical domestic and DIY use, though it should not be treated as a permanent structural repair or as a substitute for proper electrical insulation where safety is involved.

A branded Duck Tape 50m black roll costs £8.19 at Screwfix. It is marketed as waterproof, for indoor/outdoor use, and able to withstand temperatures from -5C to 60C. Lidls 50m black Parkside roll is £6.20 cheaper, or roughly 76% less, though Duck Tapes 50-mesh construction may offer a different grade of cloth backing.screwfix

Gorillas black heavy-duty tape costs £9.49 for 32m, so Lidl provides an extra 18m of tape for £7.50 less. Gorilla is a heavier-duty premium option with a double-thick reinforced backing, so it is intended for tougher surfaces and more demanding repairs it is not directly equivalent in tape grade.
