About this offer
Fuse Energy has opened pre-orders for Jules, its own plug-in solar battery. Its designed and built by Fuse rather than rebadged, and the price drops for every year you fix your electricity with Fuse.
Pricing (from the configurator on the Jules page)
– Jules on its own, no panels: £799
– Jules 2 panels: £1,177 full price
– Jules 4 panels: £1,555 full price, or £955 on a 5-year Fuse fix (£600 off)
– Changing the fix length changes the discount, so play with the slider to see your price
Fuses own figures for the 4-panel, 5-year fix: £327 a year saving, paying for itself in 2 years 11 months. Those are Fuses estimates, not mine.
Specs
– Battery: 2.5kWh usable, single unit (no add-on batteries, you expand with panels instead)
– Inverter: 800W, with grid charging, discharging and export each capped at 800W
– Solar inputs: 4, up to 500W each (Anywhere Panels for a balcony, wall or the ground)
– IP65, so it can live outside
– Size: 556 x 258 x 328mm (W x D x H)
– Weight: 26kg
What you get
– Plugs into a normal socket with up to 2kW of panels behind an 800W inverter, the battery soaks up the surplus and uses it in the evening
– Smart charging on Fuses half-hourly pricing, using the solar forecast and your usage, and it tops up from the grid when power is cheapest
– 10-year warranty held directly with Fuse (full terms at launch)
How buying works
1. Book a free engineer visit to work out how many panels and where
2. Customise the quote, or change your mind, no questions asked
3. The engineer fits it
4. You only pay once installation is complete
Things to know before you jump
– Its a pre-order. Fuse says first deliveries come in 2027, once plug-in battery rules are approved. Plug-in solar became legal on 27 August, but the law leaves out batteries that charge from the grid, and those are still waiting on a DESNZ safety study. Id expect 2028.
– The big discount assumes you switch to Fuse and stay on the fix. Check the price at the fix length youd actually be happy with.
– Landlord, freeholder or planning permission for the panels is down to you.
– Not yet known: whether it works with Home Assistant or only the Fuse app, and what happens to a pre-order if the battery rules take longer.
For comparison, Octopuss Nook Cube (2kWh, stacks to 10.5kWh) has no price or solar offer yet, so Jules is the only supplier plug-in battery with a real price on it right now.
