Not too bad for an X3D variant. AM4, so cheap board and RAM will get you up and running during these trying times. No cooler, tray item, so youll need your own, but any cheap Thermal right solution for in or around £15 will do you nicely.
The X3D CPUs will let you get away with GPUs with 8GB VRAM without stuttering too badly when they run out of VRAM, as the onboard 3d VCache helps out. Same with RAM, it helps 16GB systems along, so although it is quite a chunk more expensive than a regular 5500 or even a 5600, youll get the benefits in a roundabout way.

Might seem crazy to build AM4 in 2026, but it will get you the same level (near enough) if performance as low-end CPUs on AM5 for gaming for a similar price, with the benefits of being able to use cheaper DDR4. If you are not a gamer, steer clear, as it makes no sense.
Heres a video from Random Gaming in HD, who is a master at all things budget end, you can see the huge difference in performance in games by comparison to a regular 5500, albeit that AMDs naming of the two CPUs is poor or confusing at best.
