Book overview
Alfred isnt looking for victims. Hes looking for a family.
In a nondescript house on a quiet street, he is already at work. He doesnt want money. He doesnt want fame. He wants to go back to the beginning.
He calls them his dolls. He dresses them. He poses them. He forces them to recreate the photographs of his childhood, one perfect scene at a time. One wrong move, one broken rule, and the illusion shatters. When the illusion shatters, the dolls pay.
Fourteen-year-old Angel has been surviving her whole life. Then Alfred takes her and her twin brother, and survival becomes a game with rules only he knows, played against a timer of his choosing: Buds life. As the photo album nears its final page, Angel overhears Alfreds plan for a new doll. A younger one. Out-thinking a madman is no longer about escape. Its about who he takes next.
Somewhere outside, Peter Baden is still searching for his missing daughter. He has no idea how close he is.
A dark psychological thriller about captivity, survival, and a killer rewriting his past with other peoples lives.
For fans of Pretty Girls, Still Missing, and Room.
The Dollhouse is Book 1 of The Dollhouse Survivors and the gateway to the Komorebi shared world, where nine dark thrillers intertwine.
This is easily the best novel I have read all year, hands down I have never even heard of this author before and all of a sudden kindle is telling me to read this book and Im blown away
HOLY FREAKING MOLY . This book was so damn good in a dark, disturbing, messed up, spectacular kind of way This book is like the definition of anxiety.
I love books that are dark and disturbing and this one really delivered. The author was great at describing everything, to the point that you often felt like you were right there to personally witness all that went on inside of the dollhouse.
There is some bat shit crazy stuff going on in this book and yet it left me crying.
