Ozzy Osbourne became known as the lead singer of the style-defining hard rock band Black Sabbath in the early 70s. As a solo artist, he achieved several platinum awards from 1980 to mid-1990s. He bears the nicknames Godfather of Metal (Pate des Metal) and Prince of Darkness.
