About this offer
Dont Look Now is a psychological horror thriller directed by Nicolas Roeg, based on Daphne du Mauriers short story. John and Laura Baxter travel to Venice after the tragic drowning of their young daughter, hoping that a change of scenery will help them recover. John, a talented architect restoring an ancient church, becomes increasingly unsettled by strange events and disturbing visions. Laura encounters two elderly sisters, one of whom claims to be clairvoyant and insists that their daughter is trying to communicate with them. John remains sceptical, but begins experiencing visions of his ownincluding glimpses of a mysterious figure in a red coat moving through the narrow Venetian streets.
As the couple struggle with grief, their relationship becomes increasingly strained. Venice itself takes on an eerie, labyrinthine quality, with its foggy canals, deserted alleyways and decaying buildings creating a constant sense of unease. John becomes obsessed with the mysterious figure, convinced that it is connected to a series of violent events. As reality and supernatural visions begin to blur, his investigation leads him toward a devastating revelation and a haunting final encounter. Renowned for its unsettling atmosphere, fractured editing and themes of grief, fate and perception, Dont Look Now remains one of the most influential British horror films of the 1970s.
