Richard Chance is a reckless and relentless Secret Service agent in Los Angeles, obsessed with avenging the murder of his partner, who was killed while investigating a dangerous counterfeiting operation. Determined to bring down the criminal responsible, Chance becomes increasingly consumed by the case and begins operating outside the law. He recruits his new partner, John Vukovich, and together they target Eric Rick Masters, a sophisticated and ruthless counterfeiter living in the shadowy world of L.A.s criminal underworld.
Chances pursuit soon turns into an increasingly dangerous game of deception, theft and betrayal. To get close to Masters, he becomes involved with criminals and crosses moral and legal boundaries, dragging Vukovich deeper into his increasingly reckless plans.
