Built for fast, technical trail running, the Merrell MTL Skyfire 2 Matryx is a lightweight, performance-focused shoe designed with elite mountain runners in mind. The Kevlar-reinforced Matryx upper keeps the shoe light while adding durability and breathability, while the dual-density FloatPro foam provides responsive cushioning.
Underfoot, you get a BZM-8 engineered flex plate for added protection and stability, combined with a Vibram MegaGrip outsole and 5mm lugs for confident grip across wet and dry terrain. With a 6mm drop and 2519mm stack, it has a relatively low, agile feel thats well suited to technical trails and fast mountain running.
At around 214g per shoe for the mens version, the Skyfire 2 Matryx is particularly appealing if youre looking for something fast and lightweight rather than a heavily cushioned ultra shoe.
