As part of the Square Enix Summer Sale on Steam, Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition is back at its all-time lowest. Includes almost all the additional content, except for Episode Ardyn, which can be added as a bundle with the main game for £11.58.
The PC version is probably the best way to play, although it is also Steam Deck verified, and will look beautiful on either.
I completed FFXV back when it was released and would definitely recommend it to new players of the franchise. No, you do not need to have played the previous entries to appreciate the story, as each game is a standalone… although, it does include many Easter eggs and music from other games.
There are materials Id recommend watching before and while playing the game. A 5-episode anime called Brotherhood, and a trailer called Omen on YouTube. The Kingsglaive CGI Movie can be watched after finishing chapter 1, although I found it more interesting to watch after finishing the game.
Id also recommend waiting to play the DLCs until after clearing the main game (especially Episode Ignis Ardyn) as they give a ton of spoilers.
Theres a lot to enjoy here for a tenner.
